JUST A THEORY
Something a FB friend mentioned about 'not wanting to join any groups' got me to thinking.
Some people are just not group-inclined people, while others find great satisfaction in joining committees, clubs, etc.
I have always disliked and avoided being involved with such activities. I read a lot, love books, but have never felt the desire to join a book club. Don't feel the need to discuss the books with others. Don't know why. It just feels restrictive.
This is just a theory of mine, but I wonder if Freethinkers are just not club-joining people. Maybe they don't run with the pack, so to speak, and like making their own path.
I also wonder on the percentage of people who find comfort in religion also being the club-joining sort.
I think a study examining this would be very interesting.
